Hungry Sheep. 2.

The paddocks are dry and there's little grass cover after a summer of poor rainfall. Autumn hasn't been much better. The sheep watch our every move. Since we moved them they have access to the garage, so we are swamped when we go down. We are hand feeding but we only have a few round bales left, which they consume in a few days. So we put together a mixture of chaff, sheep nuts and barley which we then spread into their troughs. The older ewes are quite happy to follow us right into the garage watching as we pour the mixture together. You have to keep the buckets high or heads thrust their way into them.
